Pentridge Prison & Adina Hotel

This was a standout project for our team, and one that holds a special place in Melbourne's history.

The former Pentridge Prison, established in 1851, has been transformed into one of Melbourne's most exciting and vibrant community precincts. Developed by Shayher Group, Pentridge is now an integrated hub of contemporary residential, commercial and retail spaces. A remarkable transformation of one of Victoria's most iconic heritage-listed sites.

Tullamarine Plumbing & Drainage was proud to partner with Construction Engineering to play our part in bringing this landmark precinct to life. The development now features a full Pentridge Shopping Centre with a Ritchies IGA, a Palace Cinema, BrewDog bar, Olivine Wine Bar, an Adina Apartment Hotel, Wedding Chapel, swimming pool and a range of specialty dining, retail and wellness tenancies. The precinct also includes a newly developed public piazza, adding almost 6,500m² of open community space to Coburg. Now used as an outdoor venue for art, cultural events and community gatherings.

Heritage buildings including the iconic bluestone walls and guard towers have been carefully restored and integrated into the new development, preserving the site's deep historical significance while creating something extraordinary for the Coburg community and beyond.

From a maximum-security prison to one of Melbourne's most celebrated mixed-use destinations, we're incredibly proud to have delivered the plumbing and drainage works that helped make it possible!
